Medusa, from greek mythology was cursed by Athena. She was born beautiful the daughter of sea gods. Athena turned her hair to snakes and skin to a greenish colour for having an affair with Poseidon. Her face was so hideous and her gaze so piercing that the mere sight of her would turn a man to stone.
